Ночью церковь старая пуста,
Лишь лампада тускло в ней мерцает.
Пред лицом распятого Христа
На коленях девушка рыдает.
Боже! Пред тобою я грешна,
Он любил, а я вдруг разлюбила.
Подлила с отравою вина,
Парня молодого погубила.
И вот так в полночной тишене
На коленях девушка молилась,
И не слышала, как за спиной
Дверь большая тихо отворилась.
Оглянувшись, крикнула она,
В ужасе закрыв лицо руками.
Перед ней, шатавшися стоял,
Парень с мутными глазами.
Я умру! Но ты умрешь со мной!
Будем спать в сырой могиле сладко.
И своей дрожащею рукой
В грудь вонзил ей нож до рукоядки.
Ночью церковь старая пуста,

Парочка влюбленных умирает.

At night the old Church is empty,
Only the lamp flickers dimly in it.
In the face of the crucified Christ
On her knees, the girl sobs.
My God! I am sinful before you,
He loved me, and I suddenly stopped loving him.
She poured wine with poison,
Killed a young guy.
And so in the midnight silence
On her knees the girl was praying,
And I didn't hear it behind my back
The big door opened quietly.
Looking back, she called out,
