Усе акіяны і моры скарыў
І вось на радзіму вярнуўся стары.
Хадзіў ён, хістаўся па цвёрдай зямлі,
Нібыта па хісткім ідзе караблі,
А мора не бачыў - гарэла душа,
І ромам тушыў ён душэўны пажар.
Вось так і сканаў між азёраў і рэк
Тутэйшы, але ўжо марскі чалавек.
Ляжыць у сваёй беларускай зямлі
У драўляным апошнім сваім караблі.

We have too many rivers and lakes,
But there are no seas, no oceans.
And me so nothing-and there was a man,
That for this reason ended its century.
