Сады притихли. Туча идёт темна, светла.
Двух путников дорога далеко увела.
Проходят мимо яблонь, смородины густой
С попутчицей случайной учитель молодой.
Не зная, кто такая, он полпути молчал
И тросточкой рассеянно по яблоням стучал.
Потом разговорились, но, подступив стеной,
Дождь зашумел по листьям и хлынул проливной.
Они под клён свернули: его листва густа.
Но падает сквозь листья тяжёлая вода.
Накрылись с головою они одним плащом
И девушка прижалась к его груди плечом.
Идёт в район машина — водителю смешно:
Стоят накрывшись двое, а дождь
Прошёл давно.

The gardens were quiet. The cloud is dark and bright.
The road took the two travelers far away.
Pass by Apple trees, currants thick
With a random traveling companion, a young teacher.
Not knowing who she was, he was silent halfway
He tapped absently on the Apple trees with his cane.
Then they began to talk, but, approaching the wall,
The rain rattled through the leaves and came down in torrents.
They turned under the maple tree: its leaves are thick.
But heavy water falls through the leaves.
They covered their heads with a single cloak
And the girl pressed her shoulder against his chest.
Goes to the area of the car-the driver is funny:
Stand covered two, and the rain
