И, как беленькие кошки,

Трепетали на паркете,
И жуками золотыми
Нам сияло Ваше имя.
И когда Вы говорили,
Мы далекое любили,
Вы бросали в нас цветами

Непонятными словами
Опьяняя наши чувства,
И мы верили, что солнце —

In the dimly lit formal dining room
The violins sang, You danced.
Groups of butterflies and lilies
On greenish silk,
As if alive, they said
With an electric sunset,
And the shadow of the Acacias fell
On the canvas of the scenery.
You seemed like a bonbonniere
Above an elegant bookcase,
And like white cats,
Like children playing,
Your little feet
Fluttered on the floor,
And Golden beetles
Your name shone on us.
And when You said,
We loved the distant,
You threw flowers at us
Unfamiliar art,
Incomprehensible words
Intoxicating our senses,
And we believed that the sun —
Only the invention of a Japanese.
