Приятно детям в зной горячий
Уехать за город, на дачу.
Плескаться в море и в реке
И строить замки на песке.
А лучше — в утренней прохладе,
Купаться в горном водопаде,
Но, если вас отец и мать
Не могут за город послать,
На каменной лестнице, жарко нагретой,
Вы загораете целое лето,
Или валяетесь летом на травке,
На берегу водосточной канавки.
Если б меня президентом избрали,
Я бы велела, чтоб в каждом квартале
Каждого города, всем напоказ,
Вывешен был мой строжайший указ:
Детям страны, президентским декретом,
Жить в городах запрещается летом!
Всех ребятишек на летнее жительство
Вывести к морю заплатит правительство!
Этим декретом, параграфом третьим,
Горы альпийские дарятся детям.
Кто не исполнит приказа, тому
Будет грозить заключенье в тюрьму!

Swimming in a mountain waterfall,
But if your father and mother
They can't send you out of town,
On a stone staircase, hotly heated,
You've been sunbathing all summer,
Or are you lying on the grass in the summer,
On the Bank of the gutter.
If I were elected President,
I would have ordered that in each quarter
Every city, for all to see,
My strictest decree was posted:
Children of the country, by presidential decree,
It is forbidden to live in cities in the summer!
All the kids on a summer residence
The government will pay to take you to the sea!
By this decree, paragraph three,
Alpine mountains are given to children.
If you don't follow orders, then
Will face imprisonment in jail!
