Lyrics

Der magere Häftlinghelfer
erlebt es wie einen Traum:
Er
und SDG Josef Klehr
stehen in jenem engen Raum
links von der Tür ein kleiner Tisch
alle Fenster weiß gestrichen
Geruch von Farbe, gestern frisch
heute dem des Todes gewichen.

Ein alter Mann wird hereingeschafft
seine knochige Brust mit aller Kraft
so weit wie möglich hinausgepreßt.
Der Häftlingshelfer hält ihn fest.
So wird er auf den Tisch gelegt
als Klehr die Höhe der Dosis erwägt.
Hohle Wangen, leeres Gesicht

Weshalb warst du so still wie jetzt?
Ein Wort, ich ließ ihn in Ruh!
Da schreit der Helfer: Ich hatte Angst, Sie sagen
leg dich dazu!

Lyrics translation

The skinny prisoner helper experiences it like a dream: he and SDG Josef Klehr stand in that narrow room to the left of the door a small table all windows painted white smell of paint, yesterday fresh today given way to that of death.

An old man is brought in to push his bony chest out with all his strength as far as possible.
The prisoner's helper holds him.
So it is placed on the table as Klehr considers the amount of the dose.
Hollow cheeks, empty face the old man is tired, he does not defend himself.
And when he dies on the table as the SDG ends a life, the helper, the trapper of the dead mammals, recognizes: this one, that was his father, his protector his producer!

Klehr beckons the crying helper.
He carries the father next door to the room with the corpses.
He tries to avoid the eyes but this time it does not succeed.
This time it does not succeed...

Later Klehr asks the helper: was it because of the old man?
I saw it in your face.
He was your father, wasn't he?

Why were you as quiet as you are now?
One word, I let him rest!
Then the helper cries out: I was afraid, they say lie down!
