Lyrics
Sometimes I feel just like old Edgar Meadows.
I guess I’ve probably been diagnosed with ADHA, ADDAH, AMTX, SXT, XXX…
as a kid — I probably should have had a ritalin drip.
Now it’d probably be more of a Ritalin, Prozac, Praxil cocktail for my mood
alterations.
But health care is kinda pricey and with the economy and health care in the
dumps…
well.
Sometimes I think about my friendly dealer for a little pot or other mood
altering substance — but of course — we all know self medication is evil and
illegal.
We don’t want to cut ou the AMA, pharmacists or insurance middle men …
anyhow.
I digress…
to make a long story even more tedious…
Well, I decided to just say no…
No to all drugs…
I’d just clean up and take a little vacation instead.
My travel agent had a one time special deal of a lifetime vacation get-away
oportunity to a romantic little island.
I went right home & packed my cabana clothes.
I slipped into my Bermuda shorts, a Hawaiian shirt, flip-flops, ray-bans and a
nice straw hat.
I strung my trusty Brownie Instamatic around my neck and was off.
It wasn’t too long after hitting the tarmac when I realized something was
terribly wrong…
I flew into Manhattan Island
Looking for some surf and some sand,
But -oh, woe- is me because, I did not understand.
I got these New York City, Mama,
Midtown stand around blues.
I got some blues for you
and I hope you got some blues for me, too.
Just wanted me one of those
umbrella drinks and a Hula girl,
but — oh my Lord,
I was on the wrong side of the world.
I got these New York City, Mama,
Midtown stand around blues.
I got some blues for you
and I hope you got some blues for me.
